Who We Are

We are the ACF Outreach Team and our job is to challenge unrest and safeguard escalation.

We do this by patrolling the streets on our bikes and ensuring that we reach those areas that are otherwise unreachable and it’s good for the environment as well.

Our team is made up of individuals that have experienced crime or violence at some point in our lives. We believe that through these experiences we are better placed to relate and therefore engage with young people, as we have been down that same road.

Our past tribulations are now the pillars of strength that we rely on to help young people face the uncertainties of their futures. 

 ‘Shuks’

I’m known as the work horse in the team, some even refer to me as the energizer bunny because I just keep going. My experience of working for the Citizen Advice Bureau means that I’ve nearly seen it all. Born and raised in Leyton, I am now the father of 3 sons who are now my life. It is because of them that do what I do, trying to make my community safer on a daily basis is hard work but when you see the change you can make, there is nothing that compares.

‘Naz’

As an individual of Asian descent and being born in East London people 'assume' they know me. With a degree in Engineering, I am now part of the outreach team that challenges these stereotypes and together with my team I am trying to rebuild my community by working with young people that are confused and lost. I never thought I’d be doing what I’m doing but if I don’t who else will.

‘Mo’
I’m also known as the Super Striker.   My parents are originally from Algeria but I’m a local in every sense of the word. Born and raised in Walthamstow I know every nook and cranny. My brushes with law and my experiences with friends have taught me that there is more to life than you think and that maybe there are opportunities out there to better yourself if you look hard enough.

‘Aggie’

Everyone refers to me at the joker in the team that’s because I am a firm believer that laughter is the best medicine. I am Dutch national of Yemeni descendent which makes me a world citizen. My love for my religion drives me to be the best that I can be every day and to help others when they can’t see the hope in any situation. 

‘Asad’

If you ask everyone they will probably say that I’m the silent one in the team. I don’t say much but I get things done. Being born and raised in Walthamstow to parents of Asian descent has allowed me to experience the diversity of UK life. Being schooled in the borough I am aware of the pressures that young people face on a daily basis and I believe this insight gives me the awareness to relate and understand the issues better.
