What we do Young Leaders Programme Personal causes As part of the Young Leaders Programme, each young leader is required to identify a personal cause they feel passionate about. They are encouraged to apply the skills gained and developed over the course of the programme to then go out into their local communities and create an awareness about the issue. This includes presentations at schools, colleges and youth groups. This allows young leaders to be involved in positive activities, encourage other young people to get involved and develop their leadership skills in the real world. In 2016, in partnership with Twitter, 12 of the most far reaching, impactful campaigns were selected to present their personal cause campaign to a panel of judges. All presentations were professionally delivered and judged according to merit, groundwork and effort invested into making their campaigns a success. Five winners were selected who each received Twitter funding to continue promoting their campaigns.
