Key to our effectiveness is our outreach and engagement and our ability to reach out to those that are unable to access our services.
Young people are vulnerable to messages of hatred, violence and extremism, both online and on the streets. It is important that there is a freely available counter strategy to this, which is exactly what our outreach and engagement delivers.
Our outreach team goes out into the neighbourhood patrolling the streets to identify potential issues that can lead to conflict and manage it from escalating further.
The team consists of a diverse group of members from the local community, who understands the local dynamics and therefore are to relate to young people in order to identify those who are vulnerable to extremism and gang and put the right support in place.
Young people whom we meet on the streets are invited to become part of our youth centre and attend open discussions and workshops where they can learn more about issues that affect them. We aim to reach young people who have fallen through the cracks by creating a safety net to address challenging lifestyles.
Part of our outreach and engagement involves engaging with residents from the local area to serve as an additional source of assurance to the community.
Our outreach and engagement to local businesses allows us to engage with them on community issues and make a social contribution.
