Who we are

The Active Change Foundation was established in 2003 by the Qadir Brothers and Mike Jervis. As the UK’s leading specialists in countering violent extremism and gang culture, we work on the culturally diverse streets of Waltham Forest to prevent violence between urban gangs, counter the lure of those intent on recruiting vulnerable young people to violent extremism, and promote social cohesion and harmony. Our active intervention strategies set the precedent for tackling the particular social issues that the UK now faces. We work closely with the Home Office, the Met Police and non-governmental institutions to develop policies that act as a touchstone for the management of gang culture and violent extremism UK-wide.
