ACF have launched a new initiative, taking things up a level for the better of the community. ACF’s slogan 'Changing Lives for the Better' has been given a fresh new meaning as ACF members, Javid Rehman, Michael Leng, Kadar Ahmed and Fahad Ibrahim, go green and patrol the streets on bikes, engaging with vulnerable young people. The objective of ACF outreach is to identify and connect with vulnerable individuals hanging around on the streets, re-involve them in the community and enable them to aspire for better in life. Our outreach officers are determined to make a difference to these young people.By inviting them into the centre, providing activities and alternatives to hanging around on the streets, and also initiating dialogue and debate, ACF help them through a process of personal transformation. As outreach worker, Michael Leng states, ‘Once they’re in the youth centre with regular positive engagement we can decrease the chances of them living a delinquent lifestyle’. Javid Rehman continues, ‘It’s an active approach and this is what ACF is about; pro-activity. This is just the beginning and I can guarantee you that, God willing, we will gain enormous strength in our mission to help youth in need. However, we would sincerely appreciate the support of our community in this initiative of ours.’ We look forward to positive results for the Outreach project and hope for full support by the local and wider community.
